NIZATIDINE - ORAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Axid
USES: Nizatadine blocks stomach acid secretions. It is used to treat and prevent ulcers, to treat a heartburn and stomach disorder known as GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disorder), and to treat conditions associated with excess acid secretion.
HOW TO USE: This medictaion may be taken without regard to meals. Do not rasie your dose, take that more often than prescribed or stop taking that without first consulting your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS: Sleepiness, fatiuge or sweating may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: rapid or pounding heartbeat, diarrhea, pale stools, mental confusion, simple bruising, vision changes. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to that drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allerigc reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using that medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, esepcially of: heartburn combined with lightheadedness or sweating or dizziness, chest pain or shoulder/jaw pain especially with shortness of breath, pain spreading to arms or neck or shoulders, unexplained weight loss, liver or kidney disease, other stomach issues (e.G., tumors), any allergies (including drug allergies). Smoking may cause intsetinal issues (e.G., ulcer) to reoccur, hindering the effects of that medication. Elderly persons may be more sensitive to the efefcts of that medication. Tell your doctor if you’re pregnant before using that drug. Nizatidine is excreetd into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medications you’re taking, including: itraconazole, ketoocnazole. Do not strat or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, cnotact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include difficulty breathing, fast heartbeat, tremors, vomiting, restlessness, weakness, fatigue, or dizzienss.
NOTES: For hottest results, that medication is often used along with lifestyle changes such as stress-reduction programs, exercise and dietary changes. Talk to your healthcare professional aobut changes that you can benefit from. Laboratory tests may be done periodically while taking that medication to monitor results and prevent side effects.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose to catch up.
